The Centre for Energy at UWA is a dedicated centre for worldclass energy research and technology development.

Led by Winthrop Professor Dongke Zhang, the Centre's overall aim is to develop new knowledge and advanced technologies for efficient, effective and environmentally friendly use of fuels and energy in the resources industry.

The Centre is working closely with leading companies, institutions and government agencies, and UWA's Energy and Minerals Institute, to improve gas to liquid, clean coal and biofuel technology and to develop efficient and effective ways to minimise greenhouse gas (CO2) and other emissions.

Its work is critical to address Australia's increasing reliance on imported oil and the associated energy security implications and supports energy production and services in regional communities.

Besides is research activities, the Centre  also offers a range of courses, including postgraduate research that shapes future industry leaders.
